JobTrackr
Designed and built a personal product to track job applications, stages, follow-ups, and progress without falling back to spreadsheets.
Problem
Most job trackers I tried were either too shallow or hid useful features behind a paywall, so I built the tool I actually wanted to use.
Solution
Created a React and Supabase app with authentication, a status pipeline, reminders, notes, filters, and a simple dashboard.
Role
Role: Full-Stack Developer
Duration: 4 weeks
Responsibilities
- Product scoping and UX
- Frontend and backend development
- Auth and schema design
- Deployment and maintenance
Highlights
- Kanban-style status flow
- Search and filter by company and stage
- Metrics view for progress at a glance
Outcome
- Shipped a working v1 in four weeks
- Used it daily during my own job search
- Beta testers found it genuinely useful and easy to follow
What I Learned
- Building for yourself exposes UX issues quickly
- Realtime is not always worth the extra complexity
